Guitar,TT and CDMA – Some insights on learning

Guitar,Table Tennis and CDMA – Some insights on learning

I am pursuing all the three. In parallel.
I spend some 15-20 minutes on guitar. 30 mins on TT and nearly an hour on CDMA. Almost everyday.

I was not even close to the average level in any of these. Guitar at my home was lying untouched. Occasionally when there was some guilt feel I unzip the bag and used to wipe the instrument.
I gave a try few months back with my sister around as a teacher.

Around the same time I started on TT too. The game looked really difficult.
Whenever I saw those experienced guys eyeing the ball and their amazing reflexes, I said to myself,
“This is not my kinda game. One should be ‘sportive’ enough to pick the game”

Telecom engineering for nearly six years now. Never quite understood what they meant when they say air-interface. It got all the more complicated when working with a CDMA based tech startup. Any number of times you go back and forth on the learning material, it forms no picture in your head.

It must have been like this for few months now.
After these many months….know what happens when you keep doing same things again and again ?
    Pattern emerges.

Strings of the guitar starts to play like your brain waves. Your wrists know the precise tilt of the bat required when you smash the ball. Convolution codes, SNR, QPSK and dBm’s starts making sense.

This is what my observation is. Keep working on it. Just ignore the thoughts of subject being murky, complicated, too brainy or even boring. Sooner or later you will see a day when your brain does it for you even before you want to. That Aaaha moment. That’s the day.

The complexity of the subject is not to be worried. Learning is making the brain understand the pattern.
I guess…the brain needs some time to pick that pattern. Give it a time. And it learns after several constant retries till it freezes its learning. And rewards start to show up.
