I picked up this word from one of the presentations yesterday.
Over the conversation with my colleague I told
“We are so plain English speaking people. The richness of the vocab is not used in our day to day talks”
She said
“As long as we are able to communicate with whatever English we speak it should be fine”
I seem to disagree. Richness of the language seems to be buried only in literature and books…
If we put them to use in oral form, conversations would be more interesting and engaged…
We seem to be just lazy to construct sentences with more accurate and precise connotation of the word.
Don’t you agree…?
This is not to show-off your word power…No…it’s just making use of the existing words, which otherwise would perish.

Anybody who’s ever written GRE will vouch for simplicity in use of language. But there is no doubt an increased vocab is enables you to think better and be more precise. So i would say keep the orals simple but your thoughts and written communication could use all the florid language.
