Boston Weekend

Have seen just two cities in my short visit. So I pick Boston of the two, leaving NewYork at the second spot. City is pretty. People are warm and the city walks.

This is my first experience with travelling in commuter train in US. Took a commuter train from Billerica to Boston. I was expecting my friend to take me around the city. But when I called him, found out that he was in NewYork. So, it was a solitary adventure.
I had no idea as to what I would be doing for one full day in a all-alone-stranger-land. Map or a city guide would have helped me. I had none.

Subway. I liked them in NewYork. I went and purchased a Daily-Ticket at a orange line ( they have green, blue, yellow for each route). They cover the city so very well…I decided that I will just use their unlimited number of journey.

Museum of science. I spotted it on a green line. One day won’t be enough to see all there is to see in the museum. Must watch is the Omni theater. Awesome experience of the breath taking saga of Grand Canyon.

“Qwack Qwack”. Museum of science connected me to the famous DuckTour. It’s a fun ride into the History of Boston and places. Merri, the rider is the most energetic woman I have ever come across. Duck tour rolls on road and floats on the water. Very unique.

MIT, Cambridge and Harvard. All in one street. What a seat of learning the Boston is. Saw all of them in their spread out campus.
Thanks to my friend who left me all alone. I think I would a make second visit in the coming weekend on my back to India.
