Tokyo city is a concrete jungle. But nature seekers are not let down. They should look west. There is more than enough to explore in the western Tama area of Tokyo. I have already been to Mt. Mitake and Mt. Hinode in that area. There are plenty of courses for the hikers here.
I thought I will visit a museum today, but changed my mind last minute at the station and took to Okutamako lake. Okutamako is an artificial lake created with the construction of the Ogouchi dam. Japan’s largest dam. The road to Okutamako seems to be quite popular among cyclists and bikers. In the same visit you could also go to this unique floating bridge which is 5-6 kms from Ogouchi dam.
